Our Story
How our story started. . .
We met on a beach on a Friday in May 2018 near the Pier in Oceanside (the city where we both lived at the time). We were both taking an evening walk alone on the beach. Eric approached Joy when she was sitting on the beach listening to music. We talked about growing up on the East Coast (Eric is from Pennsylvania and Joy is from Ohio) and agreed to go on a hike that weekend. Our hike turned into friendship and we were together everyday. During all our boogie boarding, Forensic File watching, and gorging on Street Fair dessert: we knew we had something awesome together.
Together we went on many adventures.
Exploring the museums at Balboa Park.
Hunting for crabs in the tidepools at Cabrillo National Monument.
Eating our way through the San Diego Fair.
Cheering on the San Diego Gulls.
Climbing mountains in Joshua Tree.
Hiking many trails in the Sierra Nevada Mountain range.
Fishing all throughout Southern and Central California.
& a trip to San Francisco...
On August 2, 2020
We hiked the Tomales Point Trailhead (roundtrip it's 9 miles) at Point Reyes National Seashore and watched beautiful Tule Elk emerging from the morning fog. The trailhead ends at a point surrounded by the ocean. We waited for a cliff that had a great view and then Eric started playing our song. He got down on one knee and popped out a hidden jewelry box.
The answer is YES!
